The Farfisa 1281 is a premium stabilised video power supply unit engineered for high-performance door entry management. Designed to work alongside external timer modules such as the Farfisa art.1382 or 1282E, this heavy-duty transformer delivers continuous low-voltage power across traditional 7+1 video entry configurations. It provides simultaneous, balanced current to an external solid-state CCD camera unit, up to two parallel-connected flat or LCD video intercom monitors, a standard electric lock release and integrated entry panel nameplate lighting arrays.

It features advanced internal circuitry protected against overloading and short circuits via an integrated thermal sensor probe. If a line fault or voltage spike occurs, the unit isolates output power automatically, safeguarding connected internal video monitors and expensive external entrance panels from terminal damage.
Multi-Load Riser Distribution
Engineered to maintain clean voltage levels without drop-off, the 1281 efficiently splits current between low-draw signalling circuits and high-draw hardware. It possesses the capacity to run a single entrance camera unit alongside two parallel flat screen monitors. Alternatively, the unit can support a single camera loop grouped with a deep-profile, non-flat standard video handset without suffering image distortion or speech hum.
Thermal Sensor Reset Procedure
Should the internal thermal sensor isolate the power output due to a system fault, troubleshooting is straightforward. Installers must first locate and resolve the short circuit on the common audio, video or lock lines. Once rectified, disconnect the primary mains power feed entirely for approximately one minute. This allows the internal PTC components to cool down and reset before the system is powered back up.
Professional Installation and Wiring Guidelines
As access control specialists, we advise that installation must be carried out by a qualified electrical engineer. The housing occupies an 8 DIN module space footprint on a standard enclosure DIN rail bar. Primary mains incoming connections require robust 1mm diameter (AWG18) conductors. Ensure the building infrastructure contains an all-pole mains switch with a minimum contact separation of 3mm per pole, and ensure the enclosure guarantees the unit is never exposed to dripping or splashing moisture.
